Van den Boom Makelaardij was founded by Eveline van den Boom. She started her real estate agency after buying a home on the Costa del Sol for the second time. Both purchases could rightly be called real estate adventures. She’s seen it all: missing permits, illegally built guesthouses, residents who had no intention of leaving, and even more “too good to be true” stories.
With her background as a business economist and more than 22 years of experience in online marketing, she decided there had to be a better way. She began training to become a licensed real estate agent in the Netherlands, joined real estate networks, developed a reliable app for Spanish real estate, and founded the real estate agency, which primarily serves Dutch-speaking clients.
Our team now consists of five knowledgeable real estate agents, from left to right: Daniël Hoekzema, Daniëlle Hoekzema-Best, Mascha Knops, Laura van Houtum, and Eveline van den Boom. We’re all from the Netherlands and are happy to guide you through the Spanish real estate jungle in your own language.

While studying business economics, Eveline started her first company focused on mobile downloadable content in 2001. This company later grew into an online payment service provider.
Meanwhile, Eveline got her pilot's license, bought a plane and flew herself halfway across Europe. She went on to help flight schools sell flying lessons and other experiences.
She loved to travel far away herself and always suffered from reverse homesickness: no desire to go back. High on her bucket list was to live abroad for a while and especially to escape the dreary autumn and winter days of northern Europe. It became southern Spain because it was the warmest area within the continent of Europe, and she instantly fell in love with the rugged landscape of Andalusia. She soon discovered that like flying, living in such a beautiful area is an experience in itself. One you don't want to miss!
As an extension of her experience business, she felt that starting an estate agency was a logical step. She started the Dutch training to become a registered real estate agent in order to focus entirely on Dutch expats.
Daniëlle is an experienced entrepreneur with also a background in Dutch brokerage. After her training in brokerage, she threw herself passionately into entrepreneurship, which resulted in the successful sale of the company.
Together with her family she then took an inspiring trip through Spain, which eventually made them decide to emigrate to the Costa del Sol. Today, Danielle lives and works with great enthusiasm in this beautiful region. Her in-depth knowledge of the local real estate market and her active involvement in various networks make her a valuable advisor. Thanks to her personal experience and extensive expertise, she guides her clients with care, whether buying or selling a property.
Danielle is known for her efficient and personal approach, helping her clients get the most out of the real estate market.
Laura moved to southern Spain in 2020, right after completing her master's degree with a specialization in Marketing. She then quickly discovered her talent for sales.
After purchasing two properties in Spain, she made the switch to brokerage. She puts her passion for sales and her knowledge of the local real estate market to work for the purchase or sale of your property.
Her goal: to bring Dutch service and efficiency to the Spanish costa.
In 2019, after the success of several businesses in the Netherlands, Daniël Hoekzema, together with his family, decided to travel through Spain and Portugal for an extended period of time after selling their business. During this unforgettable trip, he soon discovered that he did not want to return to the Netherlands. The enchanting landscapes, relaxed lifestyle and wonderful climate made it clear that the Costa del Sol could become their new home. This was the place where the family truly felt connected and where they had lost their hearts.
With his years of experience as an entrepreneur and a strong local network, Daniel decided to use his knowledge to help others realize their dreams in southern Spain. His strategy is simple: do for someone else what you would like to do yourself, and add to it. In this way he hopes to inspire and support others in their search for a pleasant life in this beautiful region.

Meanwhile, Mascha has made herself at home in Spain, where she combines her passion for living, people and the outdoors in her work as an estate agent.
With her down-to-earth outlook, personal approach and the necessary experience as a 'leaver', Mascha knows better than anyone what is involved when you take the step to a new home abroad. She understands the doubts, the dreams and the pitfalls - and assists her clients with sincere commitment and a large dose of vigor.
